Environmental Planner--Hampton Roads, VA

The Hampton Roads Planning District Commission, a regional planning agency, representing the interests of the 1.6 million residents in the ten cities and six counties of Hampton Roads is seeking a candidate for the position of Physical and Environmental Planner. Candidates should have thorough background in and knowledge of the techniques of comprehensive and environmental planning. Will perform research and technical studies. Applicants must possess strong research, writing, analytical and computer skills. GIS knowledge and experience helpful. Requires MS/MA in Planning or closely related field and a background in environmental science and water resources. Education or experience in hydrology or geology helpful. A BS/BA with experience may substitute. Starting salary range - $45,700 – 50,000, DOQ. Position description is available (www.hrpdcva.gov).
