Pace--Public Transit, Chicago

Pace, the suburban bus division of the Regional Transportation Authority, is located 25 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. The RTA is the oversight agency in northeastern Illinois for the CTA, Metra commuter rail and Pace suburban bus.

Pace is one of the largest public transit agencies in North America operating 245 fixed routes, 675 vanpools and paratransit service in a service area 3500 square miles. More information about Pace can be obtained by viewing our webpage at _www.pacebus.com_ . We are excited about the future at Pace as we introduce our new Community Transit Program to deal with areas in our operating territory that can not be well-served by traditional transportation services.

There will be entry level openings (Service Planner I) in the Service Planning Department at Pace in the near future. The entry level service planning position entails route design and planning of contract routes as well as Pace-owned and operated services. An on-the-job training & mentoring program is employed to introduce the new hire to Pace culture, procedures and the service area. A Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Geography or Business is required.
