Senior Planner

COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING DEPARTMENT – ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING DIVISION

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Research and prepare technical reports and plans for water quality, water supply, water conservation, wastewater management and non-point source pollution control; analyze trends and evaluate impacts; support planning projects with GIS and other computer models and programs, confer and advise public officials, cooperating agency staffs and citizen groups on technical planning issues. Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE DESIRED: Bachelors degree in Water Resources, Water Quality Management, Environmental Planning or related field and two years related experience. Master’s preferred. Experience in water resources; knowledge of river/reservoir systems, water supply, water conservation and water quality planning /management; data analysis and data base management, GIS and modeling methods; ability to perform technical and complex planning activities; research writing and public presentation skills.

ANNUAL SALARY RANGE: $42.992 - $72,062 (no SS deduction except for Medicare portion-approx. 1.45% of salary) Eligible for an increase after 6 months.
