Minimum Requirements : Current enrollment in Urban/Regional Planning, Environmental Studies or Sciences, Geography, Public Administration, or related field. Proficiency with appropriate computer (MS Word/Excel/Powerpoint) programs. GIS experience a plus. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, self-starter, ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Strong interest in one or more of the following areas; Environmental Planning, Transit Planning, Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, or Regional Planning.

Job Description : Selected intern(s) will support project managers and senior personnel with a variety of planning related functions as needed. Potential support areas include assisting with preparation of Long Range Transportation Plan documentation, fieldwork, data collection and tabulation, research, report and newsletter preparation, and assisting with public involvement and agency coordination efforts. Projects with which the selected intern(s) could participate include, but would not necessarily be limited to, Historic District Street Sign Toppers, Historic District Window Survey, Greenway Trails and Sidewalk Inventory, Highway/Roadway Infrastructure Information, and Land Use Planning/General Plan Updates.
