PLANNER III

GENERAL DESCRIPTION Under the general direction of an employee of a higher classification, performs responsible professional planning work of an advanced level in the overall City-Parish planning program. Work involves the coordination of a major divisional function. Supervises the review of preliminary layouts. May review rezoning applications, zoning waivers, exceptions and modifications to the zoning ordinance. Assists in the supervision, review and implementation of land use and development of action programs. Assists in the development of policies and administrative procedures. Serves as a section leader and leads subordinate employees in subdivision planning, zoning, long range planning, or economic development activities. Planners III are distinguished from Planners II by their leadership roles in the respective sections. Performs other work as requested.
SALARY $36,561 - $50,609
