METRO, a non-profit corporation formed by the cities of Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa & Glendale to design, construct & operate a light rail transit system within Phoenix metro area, seeks a qualified individual to fill key position. METRO is in the final construction phase of the first 20 mile segment and in the continual planning of future phases.

Planner II will participate in environmental review of light rail transit projects (LRT), assist in developing LRT capital facility plans, conduct research on LRT, bus rapid transit (BRT) & other travel modes & participate in alternatives analysis & other system studies. Candidates with training or experience in environmental review, capital improvement planning, systems planning, research & transit experience are encouraged to apply. Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred or equivalent education & experience required to perform essential duties. Knowledge &/or experience with requirements associated with SAFETEA-LU & FTA New Starts process are beneficial.
