Triangle Land Conservancy Land Protection Specialist

Triangle Land Conservancy (TLC) is seeking a fun, energetic, organized, hardworking professional to work with landowners and conservation partners (e.g., local and state governments, other nonprofits) to protect significant tracts of natural and rural land in the Triangle. This position includes responsibility for coordination of major acquisition activities in TLC’s Little River priority area relating to the Upper Neuse Clean Water Initiative (UNCWI), including development of conservation strategies for landowner contact, negotiating for land, structuring partnerships for funding and long-term stewardship and applying for and administering related grants. The UNCWI is an initiative to protect the forests, wetlands and other natural lands in the 770-square-mile Upper Neuse River Basin that will retain and filter polluted runoff to guarantee clean drinking water. Seek candidate with strong background and experience in land protection concepts, legal and financial issues involved in land protection, and natural resource assessment and management and proficiency in GIS.
