Director of Community Planning

The Louisiana Recovery Authority (LRA, www.lra.louisiana.gov), located in Baton Rouge, LA, seeks a full time Director of Community Planning to lead the agency’s work on community recovery planning issues across Louisiana. As the state agency responsible for oversight of recovery programs in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the LRA coordinates with federal, state and local governmental partners as well as non-profits and foundations engaged in recovery efforts.

Preferred qualifications: Master’s Degree in Planning and seven to ten years of progressively responsible professional planning experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Knowledge of principles and practices of land use planning required. Knowledge of strategic planning principles preferred. AICP certification is preferred but not required. Annual salary commensurate with experience.
