Winston-Salem Project Planner--Transit

TITLE: Project Planner #211 (Transit) HIRING SALARY: $40,680.00 CLOSING DATE: May 30, 2008 DEFINITION OF WORK: The Project Planner for Transit is responsible for all transit planning activities for the Winston-Salem Urban Area MPO; coordinates with the Winston-Salem Transit Authority (WSTA), the Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation (PART), other MPOs/transit agencies in the Piedmont Triad area; performs the planning of transit projects, programs, services and improvements; does related work as required. EXAMPLES OF WORK: Develops/maintains the transit element(s) of the MPO’s 2035 Transportation Plan and Comprehensive Transportation Plan; works with WSTA in the planning of transit projects, programs and services in the Metropolitan TIP and the City of Winston-Salem’s CIP; completes transit data collection activities as needed; assists in the development of the Congestion Management System Plan; assists PART with the planning of a regional transportation system; administers transit planning grants and studies. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: Any combination of education or experience equivalent to a Master's degree in transportation planning, city/regional planning or a closely related field, or a combination of a Bachelor's degree in city and regional planning and three (3) years of responsible professional experience in transportation planning.
