Winston-Salem Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator

TITLE: Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator #3853 HIRING SALARY: $40,680.00 CLOSING DATE: May 30, 2008 DEFINITION OF WORK: The Coordinator is responsible for all bicycle and pedestrian planning activities for the Winston-Salem Urban Area MPO; coordinates all bicycle and pedestrian planning activities with the City-County Planning Board, counties and municipalities within the MPO, and other MPOs in the Piedmont Triad area; performs the planning of bicycle/pedestrian projects, programs, services and improvements; does related work as required. EXAMPLES OF WORK: A) Maintenance of long range plans for bicycle, pedestrian and greenway modes of transportation; B) Handle the administration of the Bicycle and Greenway Planning Committee, and the Sidewalk and Pedestrian Facilities Planning Committee; C) Work with consultants that would provide planning, engineering, design, construction and other specialized services; D) Coordinate with NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT) on the programming of available federal and State funds for projects; E) Provide excellent customer service. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: Any combination of education or experience equivalent to a Master's degree in transportation planning, city/regional planning or a closely related field, or a combination of a Bachelor's degree in city and regional planning and three (3) years of responsible professional experience in transportation planning.
