ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNER (JUNIOR TO SENIOR)
The Environmental Planner will lead and prepare EIRs on general plans, specific plans, regional transportation plans, and develop environmental policies for long-range plans. The successful applicant will be responsible for project management and coordination, and client interaction. Position may be filled at Junior to Senior level, based on experience. We welcome candidates with substantial experience who can assume a leadership role to apply.
Qualifications and Experience
Position requires minimum two years’ experience (more experience desirable) preparing EIRs in California, and creativity, initiative, and enterprise. Excellent writing skills are essential. Background in natural resources and a master’s degree (in planning or natural resources) are desirable.

URBAN DESIGNER
This position will focus on preparing design guidelines; downtown, specific and area plans; and development standards for zoning ordinances. Additionally, the Urban Designer will contribute to physical planning aspects of general plans. Work will combine design and planning, and involve writing reports and plans, creating drawings and maps, facilitating community workshops, and managing project teams.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must have a degree in architecture, landscape architecture, or urban design, with minimum two years U.S. experience. Additional education and experience in urban planning is desirable. Excellent writing, design/physical planning, and computer-modeling (3-D Studio Max/Sketch Up) abilities are required. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, ArcGIS, InDesign, Illustrator, and hand-drawing ability are desirable.

PLANNER (COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING)

Planners will contribute to all aspects of general and specific plans, including research and analysis, preparing plans and EIRs, workshop facilitation, and project coordination.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must have an MCP/MUP and exceptional writing skills. Previous land use planning experience, physical planning skills, GIS ability, and knowledge of California planning law is desirable.
