The City of San Francisco is currently accepting applications for transportation planners. The deadline for submitting applications was supposed to be June 9th, but has been extended at least one week (possibly two weeks). If you know of anyone who might be interested in working as a transportation planner in San Francisco, NOW is the time to apply – this application period will be used to fill positions for the next year (and possibly longer)!
The positions are officially titled “Transit Planners”, but as the job descriptions indicate, these positions may involve working on a wide range of transportation projects. It is likely that some positions will be assigned to the Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Traffic Calming Programs, which are all part of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (www.sfmta.com). We will also use the list to hire transit planners and staff to support the Transit Effectiveness Project (www.sftep.com).
